Lemon Myrtle Essential Oil is steam distilled from the leaves of the Backhousia citriodora plant native to Australia. It is a useful addition to skin care formulations targetted at oily skin types. The oil contains high concentrations of citral and methyl geranate, naturally occurring compounds known for their unique and refreshing antiseptic and antifungal qualities. Emotionally, it has an uplifting and refreshing aroma. When used before bed, it is believed to promote a restful sleep.
